A television series called “Behind the Scene: Live Jazz in Red Deer 2024” will be airing on Telus Optik TV on September 23rd. The series features a number of key figures in the local jazz scene telling their own stories, intricately woven in with exclusive footage of their music.

The series will be exclusively available on Telus Optik TV for two months, and then will be released on YouTube in November.

In June, project lead Andrew Ludtke was green-lit for a second season, which is currently in production and will air in 2026.

The Red Deer Community for Jazz Music is thrilled that our goal of documenting and preserving the legacy of jazz music in Red Deer is being fulfilled, and we are incredibly grateful to Telus STORYHIVE for the opportunity to fulfill our vision.
