Andrew Ludtke
Born in Red Deer, Andrew is a Humber College graduate with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. Andrew plays the Berglund NuEVI, an experimental electronic instrument that is highly expressive. He is in demand as a soloist and accompanist, while being highly regarded as a band leader, community builder, music producer, music promoter, music educator and virtuosic improviser.
Andrew has had the honour of studying and performing with numerous of Canadian jazz legends including Pat LaBarbera, Kirk MacDonald, Al Kay, Phil Nimmons, Don Thompson and Rob McConnel, as well as international jazz stars Chris Potter, Kurt Elling, Randy Brecker, Peter Appleyard, Mike Stern and Terrance Blachard.
In Alberta, Andrew has played with several bands including Blue Moon Marquee, Twisted Lobby, Flatiron Big Band, The Vintage, the SwingTime AllStars, RDC Big Band and Symphonic Winds and the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra.
Andrew leads his own jazz quartet, which has recently performed sold out shows at The Velvet Olive, and for the Red Deer Arts Council’s 50th Anniversary. He is currently filming and producing a TV series for Telus STORYHIVE about live jazz music in Red Deer, that will be released later in 2025.
