The week

Friday, September 25 · Feature concert

8:00–10:00 PM  Half Step Trio
Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street · all ages
Two sets, then the Community Open Sessions closed the night — players from the community joined the trio on stage.

The monthly Community Jazz Jam ran September 19 this year rather than the last Saturday, so it did not fall on the festival weekend.

Who’s playing

Half Step Trio

Jeremy Doody · guitar, leader  |  Curtis Phagoo · bass  |  Tyler Reimer · drums

Half Step Trio is a Red Deer band led by guitarist Jeremy Doody — a virtuosic soloist and master guitarist, and one of the busiest players in the city.

Curtis Phagoo plays bass and Tyler Reimer drums. They play standards, arranged for a trio, over two sets.

Then, at the end of the second set, the stage opened for the Community Open Sessions: players from the community joined the trio on stage. The whole night was recorded, audio and video.
